W hether you’re a seasoned skier or even just a novice aching to hit the slopes for the very first time, France has every kind of slope and resort you could dream of, and it’s right on the doorstep of the UK traveller.

Skiing holidays in France are truly amazing, hence their massive popularity amongst the skiing fraternity. To help you find the right break for you, we’ve compiled a short list of ski resorts with the best snow in France.

Make sure you research these destinations before you book any tickets – you definitely won’t regret it!

Méribel Antarès

Méribel Antarès

La Plagne 2100

Perfect for families, this resort provides services for children as young as two. Naturally, there will be plenty of instructional skiing for your toddlers, while you relax and enjoy the glorious view of Mont Blanc from your ski lift.

Overall, there are 425km of ski runs, with assistance from French Ski School instructors. The resort has plenty of other leisure activities if you want a break from the slopes, too.

You can relax in a Turkish steam bath, a whirlpool bath, or enjoy the delicious French cuisine (you can even get a family fondue!), which is served at the resort’s restaurants.

Childcare is what this resort truly excels at, which is why it’s a great place for a family ski trip. Apart from the usual snowboarding or skiing instructional courses, they will enjoy their very own privileged areas while parents have their own leisure and skiing time.

Méribel Antarès

If you’re going for elegance, Méribel Antarès is probably your best bet in France. It is located at 1,700m in a designer, wooded resort. During the season, the snow is perfect for skiing and snow-shoe walking – and snowboarding.

The features of the resort include a spa, gourmet cuisine at the resort’s two restaurants, a cardio/weights room, the Bridge Lounge and terrace, and a couple of bars, too.

Lessons are given, but do not accommodate for children’s club facilities. If you’re travelling with your partner and want something a little extra special, you might consider forking out a little more for the exclusive rooms that have wooden interiors and marble fittings. This is five-star skiing.

Chamonix Mont-Blanc

Another luxurious retreat, the Chamonix resort is a world famous skiing destination that provides quality on and off-piste. It provides many facilities for babies, making it ideal for young parents who want some guilt-free slope action while knowing their kids are in safe hands.

The hotel is decked out with historic, chic decor, and will add a luxurious edge to your holiday after you are done exploring the endless skiing possibilities.
